Captain Qwark is a major recurring character in the Ratchet & Clank series. He wears green tights with a blue stripe down the middle and a blue and black atom with a lightning bolt that vaguely resembles the letter Q. He also wears a yellow belt on his waist and has an antenna on his head.

Initially, Qwark is portrayed as the greatest hero of all time, however, he is nothing more than a "pretty-boy," endorsement fiend who receives credit for acts of bravery that he had nothing to do with. He has been known to double-cross his allies. In the first game he works for the villainous Drek. He attempts to kill Ratchet and Clank on Planet Umbris using a Blargian Snagglebeast (the second boss of the game) but fails, resulting in Ratchet shooting his ship down in vengeance. His endorsement deal going bust after having been defeated, he resorts to selling Gadgetron products under an assumed secret identity "Steve McQwark." Also a very good dancer.
Going Commando/Locked and Loaded
Qwark does not appear in this game until later on when it comes to light that he has been masquerading as Abercrombie Fizzwidget all along. He then tries to frame Ratchet, Clank and Angela for the Protopet's release. After Ratchet defeats the Original Protopet and the real Fizzwidget is released, he is sent to test gadgets for Megacorp, such as the Crotchitizer. Qwark is also seen on the last three episodes of 'Behind The Hero.' The second episode talking about how Qwark had become a total loser. The third he is sent to jail only to escape (by flushing himself down the toilet). The fourth he is still missing and no one knows what happened to him.
Up Your Arsenal
In this game, Qwark starts off as the legendary 'Florana Tree Beast', a Solanian version of our very own Bigfoot, who is rumored to have once been a hero. When Ratchet and Clank find the mysterious Florana Tree Beast, they discover that is actually Qwark with a now simian mind and a bad case of amnesia. He follows Ratchet into his ship and back to the Starship Phoenix where he regains his memory after watching Ratchet play a vidcomic and eventually becomes leader of the Q-Force. Though he maintains his conceited attitude, it is possible that Qwark has in a way "reformed" in the end of Up Your Arsenal. After tracking him down to his secret hideout, Ratchet scolds him for his cowardice and walks off, but Clank suggests to Qwark that he has "... A chance to be the hero you (Qwark) always wanted to be". He later joins Ratchet in the final boss battle against Dr. Nefarious and his Bio-Bliterator.
A quick note: Quark is featured in a series of 2-D "vid-comics." The series include 5 of these vidcomics.
Deadlocked
Qwark is not featured at all in this game. However, he does make a cameo appearance near the end. He assures Ratchet (ironically) that there has been no kidnapping of heroes since nobody has come to kidnap him. According to the epilogue, he is still living in blissful ignorance with his monkey friend.
This ending is a bit strange because, while Ratchet and Clank know that Qwark is not really a hero, the rest of the galaxy believes he is (Although it is plausible that Vox, through many connections and sources happens to know of Qwark's true nature).

In the April issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM), it says, Captain Quark: Aside from our two stars, the long time troublemaker Captain Qwark will be the only other familiar face returning here. His role? " He's up to no good again," says Allgeier. " We really don't know what side he's on, as he's kind of working for Tachyon [who wants to kill all lombaxes], but also giving secrets to Ratchet and Clank."
It is unknown why Qwark is the only character, according to the magazine, returning other than Ratchet and Clank.
