Clank Grapple

Clank extends his arm as the Clank Grapple.

The Clank Grapple is a gadget available in Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile. It is not an actual gadget that Clank physically acquires, instead, Clank gains the ability to extend his arms when Ratchet finds a software module near the end of Circuit Circuit 1. Therefore, the Clank Grapple is a modification to Clank's digital code within the virtual world. It is very similar in function to the Swingshot, although that gadget is referred to as a "grapple gun" in Going Mobile.

After picking up the software module, Clank can reach for a green grapple target when a blue grapple icon appears at the top of the screen. When this happens, pressing the 2 button will have Ratchet swing to the other side of the grapple target. If there is no solid ground to land on, there is usually another grapple target to latch onto, which can be done by pressing 2 again.

Ratchet referring to his Swingshot as a grapple gun may mean he is talking about the Swingshot as seen in Ratchet and Clank 1 and 2, as opposed to the light tether versions seen in Deadlocked and the Future series.
    • Indeed, the Clank Grapple arm appears very similar to the arm fired by said Swingshot.
